The Men in Blue have begun their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign as they take on Australia in their opener at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai on October 8, Sunday. After being invited to bowl first by the Pat Cummins & Co., Jasprit Bumrah drew the first blood in Mitchell Marsh in the early inning.

However, the second was Kuldeep Yadav’s prized caught and bowled to dismiss David Warner at the core of 41 in the 17th over. Thereafter, it was Ravindra Jadeja who claimed the wicket of Steve Smith, who looked set in the middle, nearing hiss half-century. While a brilliant spell from Jadeja left the batter in dismay, dismissing him at the score of 46, the Indian all-rounder took wickets in quick succession to put the hosts on top.
While he dismissed Steven Smith in the 29th over, Labuschagne and Alex Carey’s wicket came in the 30th over. Soon after this brilliant spell by Jadeja, fans let the microblogging website on fire, hailing the spinning all-rounder as Aussies were reduced to 119/5 by the 30th over.
