On Thursday, February 8, Etihad Airways entered into an official agreement with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to become their new sponsor in IPL 2024. As per the initial details of their partnership, the logo of Etihad Airways will be displayed on player jerseys of the CSK, and it will also be a part of their events and platforms.
As per the report from the Economic Times, the Etihad Airways and CSK partnership was announced at Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai in the presence of the esteemed dignitaries of both organisations. The team officials and players of CSK joined the cabin crew of Etihad Airways on stage wearing their new jerseys and displaying the logo of the airline.
The Chief Revenue Officer of Etihad Airways, Arik De told PTI, “The investment that we are announcing today is about CSK. Cricket is a huge part of this country and deepening that relationship for us is super important. It is going to be a pretty deep partnership and we are going to unravel it slowly like a nice Bollywood movie unravelled itself.”
He also divulged the details of the partnership between Etihad Airways and CSK, and said, “In the initial part, we are going to have visibility in the stadium through a hospitality suite. We're going to be the sponsors for the T-shirt (and) the back of the T-shirt. So that's how we going to kick it off.”
The statement from the Chief Executive Officer of CSK, Kasi Viswanathan, “This collaboration goes beyond the boundaries of a traditional sponsorship. It's about creating an extraordinary experience for our fans and setting new standards in sports partnerships.”
