NBA legend and LA Lakers star player LeBron James thinks his former teammate and Dallas Mavericks point guard Kyrie Irving is the greatest ever player with the ball in his hands. Replying to a tweet about Irving’s impressive technical ability that hailed him the best player with the ball, King James took to Instagram to reshare the post responding with “Ever!!!”

Despite this, Kyrie Irving is seen as the greatest ever ball carrying player, and his ability to go through teams with different defensive approaches is highly regarded in the sport.

Kyrie Irving first became known in the NBA circuit during his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, before LeBron joined the team. In 2016, the pair won the NBA championship together and Irving had what was probably his most memorable season ever. After leaving the Cavaliers in 2017, Irving has played for three different teams and performed well for each one. Following two runs with the Celtics and the Nets, he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks earlier this year.

LeBron pushing for reunion with Kyrie

It is reported that LeBron James is interested in re-uniting with Irving at the LA Lakers and the team has made more than a few efforts to sign the iconic player in the last season. Before Irving was traded to the Mavericks last season, the Lakers tried to make a deal happen but were unable to do so because of their cap space.

During the off-season, the Maves focused heavily on re-signing their star player, and have agreed a three-year, USD 126 million deal. Given the amount of money and time the Mavericks have invested into Irving, it is unlikely that any trade with the Lakers happens.

NBA reporter and Lakers enthusiast Brian Windhorst said: “I will say this. I do think LeBron has an interest in playing with Kyrie Irving again. I think he likes the idea of playing with Kyrie, the concept of playing with Kyrie and Anthony Davis. I have long said the best big-man pairing that LeBron’s ever had, as far as pure fit, is Anthony Davis. I believe the best guard pairing LeBron’s ever had is Kyrie Irving.”
