Red Bull driver Sergio Perez will be wearing a special helmet based on the Marvel film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in the Brazilian Grand Prix. Ahead of the race weekend in Sao Paulo, Perez revealed the design of his new helmet.
The helmet has a matt dark grey colour and features the logo of a black panther. Checo Perez shared pictures of the helmet on his Twitter account and asked his fans their thoughts and opinions on the new helmet design.
The tweet said, Mi casco para el fin de semana, ¿les gusta? Ojalá seamos tan rápidos como Pantera Negra 💪 #wakandaporsiempre #BrazilGP My helmet for the next race, your thoughts? Hope we can be as fast as Black Panther #wakandaforever

F1 has a long connection with the Black Panther film franchise when Chadwick Boseman, who played the lead character in the 2018 film, passed away. Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton took the pole position at the 2020 Belgian Grand Prix, the day after Boseman passed away. The British driver decided to dedicate his achievement to the American actor and recreated the ‘Wakanda Forever’ hand symbol.
Perez enters the Brazilian race weekend as he looks to secure second place in the Drivers’ Championship. However, Checo is currently battling it out with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and is ahead of the Monegasque driver by five points in the standings. “I think in general with Charles it has been good, the fighting,” Perez said last time out in Mexico. “It’s always, really close, really tight.
He further added, “And you know that Charles will be aggressive, always, but always fair. And it’s something I don’t believe he will change, no matter how we get into Abu Dhabi, what difference will it make because he is like that? And I don’t see that changing. And I also feel like, from my side, I’m also fair. So I don’t expect that to change.”
