After India’s heart-wrenching loss in the ODI World Cup 2023 final, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has maintained a low-media profile. While a few cricketers have opened up on the unexpected and upsetting loss in the summit clash of the tournament, Sharma has maintained his silence on the same. However, a heartwarming video of Sharma’s daughter, Samaira, has been doing rounds on social media after the World Cup final.
In the video, Sharma’s daughter could be heard sharing updates about him. Times Now quoted Samaira as saying, “He is in the room. He has got corona. He is almost positive, but in one month, he will laugh.” The video has been circulating on the internet in reference to Rohit’s mood after the World Cup loss, but the reality is something else.

The video which fans think is after the tournament is actually one-and-a-half years old. The video dates back to June 2022, when India visited England, and was to lock horns with the hosts for the fifth Test in Edgbaston. Around that time, the Indian skipper had contracted COVID-19 before the Test and was ruled out of the fixture.
Speaking of the ODI World Cup 2023, India remained undefeated throughout the tournament but ended up losing the final fixture against Pat Cummins’ Australia. With their victory, the Baggy Greens became the world champions for a record sixth time.
