While Rohit Sharma and former India captain Virat Kohli have opted to take a break from the white-ball leg, the later was in the limelight after a fan was denied entry in one of his restaurants in Mumbai. A Tamil fan, who calls himself a big fan of the Indian cricketer, accused the One 8 Commune management for denying him entry for his attire.

“This is Mr. Virat Kohli’s restaurant in Juhu, Mumbai ….. After reaching the restaurant, the incident which I faced was not only disappointing but also hurt me a lot. After checking in at JW Marriott Juhu, I eagerly rushed to One 8 restaurant which belongs to Virat Kohli as I am very big fan of him. Despite wearing high-grade attire.. the management of the restaurant refused to admit me inside stating that this attire is out of their dress code. With great disappointment, I am going back. I doubt whether he will take action on this incident. Hope such incident doesn’t occur again,” he said in a viral video.

Additionally he doubted that if Virat Kohli would take any action or will even look in the matter after adding that he returned to his hotel hungry and disheartened.

Another fan, commented on the video sharing his experience when he was denied entry as he came in shorts and slippers. A fan, who runs by the username @rishi_punamia on X (formerly Twitter) said, “its nothing against your culture…. they have denied me entry in shorts and slipper because its their dress code which has to be followed to enter…whether to have a code or not can be a topic of debate…but don’t make it a topic of ‘being against culture’”.

However, it is to be seen whether the star Indian batter, Virat Kohli takes any action in this matter or not. The 35-year-old, who is on a break will return to the field in the two-match Test series against South Africa, starting December 26, 2023.
