A fan who was trying to steal a match ball during the IPL 2024 game was caught by police on April 19, Friday. Lucknow Super Giants clashed against Chennai Super Kings in the 34th fixture of the 17th season of the Indian Premier League. The match saw the KL Rahul-led side securing an eight-wicket win over their counterparts.
During the match, an unexpected incident took place when UP Police caught a fan who was trying to steal the match ball. In videos going all over social media, a few police officials were seen outside the Ekana Cricket Stadium with a fan who stole the ball from the match. He got the ball during the game and tried to steal it. However, he had no success as he was caught by the local police just outside the stadium.
Dhoni’s making valuable contributions, but there are few losing causes as well: Brian Lara
West Indies great Brian Lara said that while MS Dhoni has been making valuable contributions with his cameo, they have been a cause of CSK’s losses also. Lara told Star Sports, “The question has to be asked would you like to bat higher? Because I can see he's making valuable contributions. But there are a couple of losing causes as well. So, I think that should be a consideration.”
He added, “At 42, he's most likely thinking from the team's point of view, that the young guys got to do the job. But I think the middle of the innings told a little bit too much about CSK's batting. And it created the fact that even though he exploded at the end and he did that Dhoni thing at the end it still was not enough.”
