Team India fans slammed Indian cricketers for their poor show with bat in the third and final ODI against Sri Lanka on August 7. India clashed against Charith Asalanka-led Islanders in the final clash of the white-ball tour, at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. After trailing the ODI series 0-1, the Rohit Sharma-led side took on their counterparts intending to level the series after losing another game by 32 runs. However, the Men in Blue put up a disappointing display of batting skills as Sri Lanka bowlers proved to be extremely lethal.
India lost their batters in quick succession after Shubman Gill went back after scoring just six runs. Star batters including Virat Kohli, keeper-batter Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer and even all-rounder Axar Patel failed to deliver even a decent performance. Skipper Rohit Sharma managed to score 35 runs off 20 deliveries.
Dunith Wellalage picked up a total of four wickets, followed by Jeffery Vandersay picking up two wickets. S oon other Indian batters also faltered to suffer a historic 110-run defeat.
Indian fans showed no mercy and brutally trolled Rohit Sharma and Co. for their poor show against Sri Lanka.
As of writing, India had lost eight wickets with 118 runs on board.
