The defending champions Denver Nuggets, extended their winning streak against the Los Angeles Lakers to 11 games including the regular season and playoffs as the Lakers last won a game against the Nuggets in December 2022. Following the Lakers' third straight loss in West Round 1, fans took to X (formerly Twitter) and showered their frustration over head coach Darwin Ham and point guard D'Angelo Russell.

The Lakers blew away a 20-point lead in Game 2 against the Nuggets and lost the game by 101-99, with many calling out Darwin Ham for not using timeouts properly and lack of support from the Lakers guards.

After leading the game at the end of half-time, the Lakers went down to 12 points in the third quarter as Denver managed an eight-point lead heading into the final quarter. Lakers guard D'Angelo Russell scored 0 points in Game 3 against the Nuggets after playing 24 minutes and made three rebounds and two assists.

During a Lakers' team huddle, Russell was spotted eating chocolate on the bench as he seemingly refused to take part in the team huddle. The Lakers point guard was also subjected to the home crowd's booing at the Crypto.com Arena.

After the game, the Lakers fans flooded social media platform X with reactions as they expressed their disappointment with the Lakers' run in the post-season. The fans slammed Darwin Ham and D'Angelo Russell and also asked to remove them from the team.
