Floyd Mayweather, one of the greatest boxers of all-time, has found himself in a legal battle after getting sued at the Los Angeles Superior Court for an alleged incident involving his bodyguard. As per the reports, the 46-year-old had allegedly ordered his bodyguard to assault someone at the Yard House restaurant near the Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles in 2022.

The controversial incident happened when Floyd Mayweather and his entourage made their way into the Yard House restaurant, which reportedly caused significant disturbance there. When the crowd gathered around the former professional boxer and his entourage at the restaurant, a patron using a cellphone to record him caught their attention.

It led to the patron named Eduardo Andres Torrez Martinez, who is the plaintiff in the lawsuit, claiming that Floyd Mayweather’s bodyguard attacked him physically while he was trying to record him, at the behest of the 46-year-old himself. Notably, Floyd Mayweather is named as the primary defendant in the lawsuit, while his brand, The Money Team, LLC are being sued for alleged “assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, general negligence and negligent hiring training and supervision.”

As per the lawsuit, a member of Floyd Mayweather’s entourage “negligently, carelessly, intentionally, maliciously and/or physically touched, struck and/or hit (the victim)," which resulted in him falling to the ground. It escalated with the bodyguard attempting to seize the cellphone of the patron, which allegedly caused him further harm.

A representative of Floyd Mayweather has stated that his client had left the Yard House restaurant due to overcrowding, Eduardo Andres Torrez Martinez reported feeling fearful for his life. Moreover, the plaintiff in the lawsuit is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages from the former professional boxer.
