Prior to the start of the 2023 Formula 1 season, the F1 organisers have confirmed the calendar for the upcoming season. The F1 on Tuesday (January 17) confirmed the addition of Las Vegas Grand Prix. The brand-new Las Vegas GP will be held a week prior to the season finale race at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

 

Talking about the F1 calendar, the season will kick off with the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 5, followed by a race at the Jeddah Circuit on March 19. The F1 will then move on to Australia in April. Notably, this is the first time in the F1 season that the calendar will feature 23 race weekends.

The Chinese Grand Prix was removed from the F1 season due to the COVID-19 restrictions and the organisers haven’t named any replacement for the same.

 

Formula 1 calendar to feature six Sprint races in 2023

 

Apart from featuring as many as 23 races on the calendar, F1 2023 season and the season onwards will also have six Sprint events. Formula 1 announced that the World Motor Sport Council, FIA has approved the proposal to increase Sprint events from three to six. However, the venues for these six Sprint races have not been decided yet.
