Miami set to make debut in 2022 season
There were quite a few exciting takeaways from the announced calendar but one that caught everyone's attention was the announcement of new Miami Grand Prix. F1 will return to the state of Florida for the first time since 1959, with the race scheduled to take place at the beautiful Miami International Autodrome (5.41km), situated in the Hard Rock Stadium complex in Miami Gardens
President and CEO of Formula 1 Stefano Domenicali said, "We are very pleased with the interest in Formula 1 from places that want to host races and the growth of the sport and believe we have a fantastic calendar for 2022 with destinations like Miami joining famous and historic venues. The pandemic is still with us, and we will therefore continue to be vigilant and safe – to protect all our personnel and the communities we visit."
It must be noted that despite a 23-race calendar (starting on March 20), F1 2022 season will concluded on November 20, almost a month earlier than this year.
