Gautam Gambhir is the former Indian cricketer and the current head coach of the Indian cricket team. Gambhir was a team player who always stood up on big occasions. He was the highest scorer for India in the finals of 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup and helped the side in clinching the title on both occasions.
Gautam Gambhir has been a talented top order batsman who also excelled in captaincy leading his IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders to two titles in 2012 and 2014, respectively. Post his cricketing career, Gambhir joined politics and became a member of Parliament. He was also honored with Padma Shri Award in 2019. He is currently the new head coach of the senior Indian Men’s cricket team. Gambhir's tenure as an Indian head coach started with a limited overs series in Sri Lanka in July-August in 2024.
