Jake Paul, the YouTuber-turned-boxer, has announced his intention to compete for Team USA in the amateur boxing event at the LA Olympics in 2028. The Problem Child spoke about being “sick and tired of waiting around” before looking forward to winning the gold medal for Team USA in Los Angeles in four years' time.
After making his boxing debut in 2020, Jake Paul has a 10-1 win-loss record in the sport, but most of his wins have come against MMA fighters transitioning into the sport. Tommy Fury, one of the most recognised professional boxers in the world, handed the 27-year-old his first loss in the sport via a split decision earlier this year in Saudi Arabia.
In a clip posted by HappyPunch on X from a podcast appearance, Jake Paul said, “I'm going to enter the 2028 Olympics for boxing in Los Angeles.” “I'm sick and tired of waiting around, waiting for another gold for Team USA,” he added.
Gold medal. You're mine, brother: Jake Paul
Jake Paul was very confident in saying, “Gold medal. You're mine, brother” before talking about how his ambition will add a couple of more years onto his boxing career. "Being a world champion is first and foremost, and then second is a gold medal," he further stated.
To make his dream of winning a gold medal at the Olympics a reality, Jake Paul won’t be given a spot in Team USA. He will have to qualify for the LA Olympics 2028 in the next four years after competing in amateur boxing events in the US and overseas.
