The Slovenian basketball superstar Goran Dragic has announced his plan to retire from the NBA after playing 15 seasons in the most popular basketball league in the world. The 37-year-old will also play a farewell game in August next year, the details of which are going to be unveiled in a press conference on Thursday, January 4, 2024.

As per the report from BasketNews, the August farewell game for the former NBA's most-improved player of the year will be hosted by a company named Spontanzo and the Goran Dragic Foundation. It is set to go down over two days in the capital city of Slovenia, Ljubljana in August 2024 with a lot of top basketball stars expected to feature.
Notably, Goran Dragic has had his best years in the NBA with the Miami Heat during his six-year stint with the franchise from 2015 and 2021. After earning his first NBA All-Star appearance in 2018, he was instrumental in taking the Miami Heat to the finals of the 2020 season in the pandemic era, losing in six games to the Los Angeles Lakers of LeBron James.
During his illustrious franchise career lasting 15 years, Goran Dragic played 946 NBA games for the Heat, Suns, Rockets, Raptors, Nets, Bulls, and Bucks. Although it is not clear if the Slovenian is going to step away from his professional career immediately, he is yet to receive a deal to play in the NBA in the ongoing 2023-24 season.
