On Saturday, March 29, Gujarat Titans (GT) registered a convincing 36-run win over Mumbai Indians (MI) to get their first win in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, GT defended the 196 runs to get two points under their belt and continue their domination against the Mumbai-based franchise with four wins at this venue.
For the unversed, MI skipper, Hardik Pandya had won the toss and invited GT to put the score the first on the board at their home ground. GT opener Sai Sudharsan once again proved crucial for the side, playing a 63-run knock with his inning being laced with six boundaries. Skipper Shubman Gill also added 38 runs, Jos Buttler scored a 24-ball 39. None of the other batters could add much on the scoreboard as they departed registering single digit scores.

After Tilak’s departure, Suryakumar Yadav was joined by the skipper but both departed at quick intervals, scoring 48 and 11 runs respectively. Naman Dhir and Mitchell Santner did get some shots right but it was just too late with over 68 runs needed off 12 deliveries. In the bowling side, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna picked two wickets for GT, whereas Kagiso Rabada and R Sai Kishore got one each to their name.
