Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins created history as he picked up hat-tricks in back-to-back games in the T20 World Cup 2024. In the Super 8s stage of the tournament, Cummins picked up his hat trick against Bangladesh which Australia helped restrict the Tigers to 140-8. Then in the next match, the Aussie Test captain took his second hat trick against Afghanistan, which wasn't enough as the Atalan Lions registered a 27-run win.

The first one came against Bangladesh where he took three wickets on three balls across two overs by dismissing Mahmudullah (17.5), Mahedi Hasan (17.6) and Towhid Hridoy (18.1). Then against Afghanistan, Cummins dismissed Rashid Khan (17.6), Karim Janat (18.1) and Gulbadin Naib (18.2) to script history.
