Gujarat Titans defeated Mumbai Indians by 36 runs in Ahmedabad to get their first win in IPL 2025. Meanwhile, the five-time champions MI als suffered their second consecutive loss of the season and are yet to win a match this year. After the match, the fans showed their creativity and came up with hilarious memes on social media. Batting first, GT posted 196/8 in their 20 overs, thanks to Sai Sudharsan's knock of 63(41) runs. In reply, MI were restricted at 160/6 in their 20 overs with Suryakumar Yadav top scoring with 48(28) runs.
Batting first, GT got a great start as skipper Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan put up a partnership of 78 runs in 8.3 overs. Gill got out after scoring 38(27) runs while Sudharsan top scored 63(41) runs hitting four fours and two sixes. Jos Buttler also contributed with 39(24) runs while Sherfane Rutherford scored 18(11) runs as GT almost reached the 200-run mark.

Chasing the winning target, MI kept losing wickets at regular and were nowhere to GT's total. Mohammed Siraj cleared Rohit Sharma’s stumps in the very first over at the score of eight runs. After a few overs, Siraj struck again as another MI opener Ryan Rickelton went back to the pavilion as the hosts were reduced to 35/2 after 4.3 overs. After that, Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav added 62 runs for the third wicket. Tilak Varma got out after scoring 39(36) runs hitting three fours and a six, while Robin Minz couldn;t add more than three runs to the score. Suryakumar Yadav also gave a tough fight but got out after scoring 48 runs off 28 balls hitting one four and four sixes.
MI will now face Kolkata Knight Riders in their upcoming fixture at Wankhede Stadium on March 31. They will look to get their first win at their home ground.
