The Harmanpreet Kaur-led Women in Blue registered a dominating win over the Australia Women in the one-off Test at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, 24 December. The hosts put up an all-round performance to help them finish on the other side after comfortably chasing the 75-run target posted by the Aussies earlier in the day today.  

After bundling out the visitors giving just 28 runs in the starting 75 minutes on Day 4 of the one-off Test, Smriti Mandhana’s unbeaten 38 off 61 balls with a boundary to finish of the things, helped the side register their first-ever win in just 18.4 overs of the final inning.

The moment which will be etched in the history of Indian cricket, went viral in no time as fans flooded social media with applause for the much-awarded win.

Talking about the one-off Test between India Women and Australia Women, the Alyssa Healy-led side opted to bat first after winning the toss. The side posted 219 in the first inning with a crucial half-century from Tahila McGrath and crucial contribution from Beth Mooney. Pooja Vastrakar registered a four-wicket haul, with Sneh Rana picking three wickets while Deepti Sharma finishing with two scalps.

However, in the second innings, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side posted a considerable score on the board of 406 runs and thereafter bundled out the Aussies for 261 in the third inning. With just 75-run needed to win the match, the Harmanpreet-led side finished off the things in style in just 18.4 overs.
