Indian skipper Rohit Sharma had a forgettable night on Tuesday as his side lost must-win game against Sri Lanka at the Dubai International Stadium. The defending champions earlier lost the game against Pakistan in their first clash at the advanced stage due to which Men in Blue had to win their game versus Sri Lanka in order to stay relevant in the tournament.
While Rohit looked disappointed with the Indian bowling which failed to restrict Sri Lankan batters in the second innings on Tuesday evening, he appeared in a lighter mood at the post-match press conference. In response to a journo's query of the possibility of India versus Pakistan match at the final of the tournament, Rohit hilariously suggested the journalist not to worry about it as it will surely happen. "Hoga na, kyu tension le rahe ho," said Rohit which left everyone in splits.
Speaking of his side's performance, Rohit admitted that the defending champions fell short of 10 to 20 runs in the first innings. "We ended up on the wrong side. We could have capitalized on the first half of our innings. We fell 10-15 runs short. The second half wasn’t good for us," he said during post-match presentation. Guys in the middle can learn about what shots can be played. These things can happen. Losses like these will make us understand what works as a team,” Rohit concluded.
