Four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs has been traded from the Buffalo Bills to the Houston Texans for draft-pick compensation. The Bills will get a 2025 second-round pick in exchange for Diggs, who is an $18.5 million cap hit. The move came after he responded to fans’ questions about his role in the success of Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
The Houston Texans also traded for Joe Mixon this season and acquired him from the Cincinnati Bengals. He was later signed for a three-year deal with a $27 million extension. They then signed star pass-rusher Danielle Hunter for a two-year deal worth $49 million. Diggs joined the Texans’ lineup featuring Stroud, Mixon, Nico Collis, Tank Dell, and Dalton Schultz.

According to the NFL, “The Buffalo Bills are trading Diggs to the Houston Texans along with a 2024 sixth-rounder and a 2025 fifth in exchange for a second-round selection in 2025, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Wednesday, per sources informed of the situation.
Following a 2020 trade from Minnesota, Diggs breached the 1,100-plus-yard receiving mark in each of his four seasons in Buffalo, including leading the NFL with 127 catches and 1,535 yards in his first season alongside Josh Allen.”
Earlier this season, the Bills released several veterans from their squad including defensive players such as Tre'Davious White and Jordan Poyer, as well as Mitch Morse. Not only this, but receiver Gabriel Davis signed with the Jackson Jaguars while Leonard Floyd moved to the San Francisco 49ers in free agency.
Notably, Diggs was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2015 and was traded to the Bills in 2020. Last season, he recorded 107 receptions for 1183 yards and scored eight touchdowns, which marked his sixth straight season for Diggs with over 1000 yards.
