Team India on Monday, November 25 registered a dominant 295-run win over Australia in the first Test of the highly-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) Test series. On the back of a brilliant bowling spell from stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah, who led from the front and century knocks from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli, India registered a comfortable win.
With this historic win at the Optus Stadium in Perth, India went 1-0 up in the five-match Test series. Not only this, the Men in Blue also reclaimed the top spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 standings after earlier slipping to second spot after a 0-3 drubbing against New Zealand at their home.

After a formidable win, India now sit at the top of the table with nine wins from 15 matches and 110 points. With the Men in Blue eyeing their third straight appearance in the WTC Final, set to be held in Lord’s next year, hoping to continue their winning run in Australia and the BGT. On the other hand, Australia, who replaced India at the top of the table after India’s 0-3 defeat, dropped to second place with 57.69 percent.
