Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry made an honest admission after his side recorded a 93-144 loss against Memphis Grizzlies. Curry mentioned that it is a surprisingly common outcome for the side and stated he is convinced that the Warriors squad is a lot better than their record and recent results. Notably, the Warriors recorded a historic loss to their rivals at the FedExForum on Thursday. The 51-point margin is the largest in the NBA this season and is tied for Warriors’ fourth worst loss in Golden State’s history of 78 years.
However, after the match, Curry remained surprisingly calm and admitted that the side gets such a blow out once in a year. According to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN, he said, “We get blown out like this once a year. [But compared to the 50-point loss against the Boston Celtics last season], I like the vibes better right now. I'm going to keep saying it cause I genuinely believe we are better than what we've been playing. Better than what we showed tonight.”
It was just a humbling night all around: Steve Kerr
After the game ended, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr opened up on the loss and called the entire experience a humbling one. Not only this, but he also admitted that the team is reeling right now. He said, “It was just a humbling night all around. They took it to us. They were great.” He also added that despite getting humbled, he has high hopes for his squad as he knows that the team is going to bounce back.
Kerr told reporters, “I know we’re going to bounce back, I’m not concerned about that," Kerr said. "But we’ve got a lot to work to do to execute and learn how to execute under pressure and take care of the ball and get good shots.”
