On Monday, December 2, Manchester City captain Kyle Walker sent an emotional message to the fans after their shocking run of results, staying winless in all competitions for more than a month, wherein they have lost six of their last seven games. The 34-year-old spoke about how their recent performances haven’t been up to the standard expected out of them, while promising the Manchester City fans about fighting until the very end.

Notably, the slump in form for Manchester City began on October 30 when they lost the EFL Cup quarter-final against Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 away from home. Since then, they have been beaten four times in a row in the Premier League at Bournemouth (1-2), at Brighton (1-2), at home to Tottenham Hotspur (0-4), and just a day ago, Liverpool dominated them on their way to a 2-0 win at the Anfield, to go 11 points clear of them at the top of the league standings.

Manchester City haven't won a game in all competitions in last five weeks

In the UEFA Champions League 2024-25 season, Manchester City didn’t fare much better either as they suffered a 1-4 defeat at Sporting, while Feynoord held them to a 3-3 draw at the Etihad Stadium after going down 0-3 with over 16 minutes to play. Following these tough results, Kyle Walker took to his official Instagram account to pen an emotional message to the Manchester City fans, thanking them for their support in the good and bad times.

Kyle Walker wrote, “We know our recent performances haven’t been up to the standard we expect, and we’re aware it’s been tough. But we’ve been through these challenges before, together, and we’ll come through this one as well. It’s important that we all stay together as one club, as Manchester City, through this tough spell. Your support, whether in the good times or the difficult moments, means everything to us.”

"We’ve won titles in the final games of the season, and we’ve made history with a record-breaking 100-point campaign, right down to the last kick. We’ve shown time and time again that we can rise to the challenge, and we will do so again. I promise you, we’ll fight until the very end,” he concluded.
