Brazil footballer Casemiro has expressed gratitude towards Manchester United in an interview with AS amid his exit rumours from the team. Back in 2022, the midfielder became a part of the Premier League’s illustrious side after serving Real Madrid for nine years. In his three-year stint with United, the 32-year-old has shown up in 68 games and has scored six goals. Casemiro is struggling to be at his best recently and Manchester United, who are facing a difficult time currently, are witnessing the domination of their head coach Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese hasn’t picked up the Brazilian as a regular in the side, following which the news of the latter’s exit is making rounds.

In a latest development, Casemiro spoke to AS and claimed he is contented at Manchester United and his family has also settled in the city. The star player also added that he is acclimatising to the conditions and has also learnt English.

“I respect Man United and I'm very grateful. I have a year and a half left on my contract and I'd like to fulfil it here in Manchester. I'm comfortable here, I’m happy and so is my family. They've adapted, we speak English”, said Casemiro.

Real Madrid has a very strong winning mentality: Casemiro

In the interview, Casemiro was asked about the difference between his current team United and his old side Real Madrid. Responding to the question, he praised Madrid for their stellar level of competitiveness going on through the years while he also feels United has a superb level of thirst to be on top but it takes patience to bring back old domination in Europe.

“Real Madrid has a very strong winning mentality ingrained in its history. The culture is all about achieving greatness, about being the best. Man United also has a rich history and incredible fans, but Real Madrid is built to win Champions League titles consistently. At United, there’s an undeniable drive, but it takes a bit more time to return to that level of European dominance. It’s about adapting and growing to reach those heights once again. However, the commitment and professionalism are the same,” Casemiro added.
