Former India cricketer Sourav Ganguly, who serves as the Director of Cricket for IPL franchise Delhi Capitals (DC) opened up on Rishabh Pant’s availability for the T20 World Cup 2024. The marquee event will be jointly held in West Indies and the USA in June 2024.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of DC’s clash against Mumbai Indians (MI), the former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCC) President Sourav Ganguly provided a big update on DC skipper, Rishabh Pant’s participation in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Although, Pant’s return to competitive cricket boasts in itself, Ganguly feels that more clarity on his participation at the T20 WC 2024 will be decided in another week.

“If the national selectors want him, I should be able to judge in another week about Rishabh’s chances of playing the T20 World Cup,” said Sourav Ganguly.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, the 51-year-old also provided fitness update on Kuldeep Yadav and Mitchell Marsh. While Kuldeep is said to miss a few matches for DC as he is suffering from a groin niggle, Ganguly also confirmed that the Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is injured.

“He will undergo a fitness test for a groin stiffness during training and by evening we’ll know about his availability,” he said for Kuldeep Yadav. The Delhi Capitals will next face Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, April 7.
