Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube credited Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni for his game improvement. Dube, who played a brilliant knock in the series opener against Afghanistan, said that Dhoni inspired him to become a good finisher. The 30-year-old is a part of Dhoni-led CSK in the Indian Premier League. In the first T20I match against Afghanistan, Dube played a crucial knock of 60* runs off 40 deliveries.

His half-century helped India register an easy six-wicket win on Thursday at the PCA Stadium and earned him a well-deserved Player of the Match. After the match, the CSK player attributed the positive shift in his attitude and approach to MS Dhoni and said, “It felt very good to get a good opportunity. I was keeping myself ready to not miss an opportunity. When I came to bat, I wanted to finish the match. I learned it from Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni), I wanted to finish the match well.”

Dube added, “I always keep talking to Mahi bhai. He is such a big legend. I always keep learning from him, by seeing him and observing him. He has told me a couple of things about my game. He always rates me, saying I play well. If he rates me, then that gives me motivation to keep playing well. Because of which, my confidence is very high.”

Apart from putting on a great show with the bat, Dube picked a crucial wicket with opposition skipper Ibrahim Zadran and finished with figures of 2-0-9-1. Speaking of the match, after a successful conclusion of the first T20I, the caravan will move to Holkar Stadium in Indore for the second T20I on January 14.
