Afghanistan fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq was greeted with chants of "Kohli! Kohli!" at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Playing against India, the Afghans entered this contest after a massive loss against Bangladesh. But through the build-up for the India vs Afghanistan encounter, the focus has been on the rivalry between Naveen-ul-Haq and Indian star Virat Kohli.

The duo got into a massive spat during the IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium. Both players had a few heated exchanges throughout the game but after the match, both teams came together for the post-match handshakes, and the duo got into a war of words.
Since then Naveen-ul-Haq trolled Kohli throughout the tournament on social media. Hence Indian fans would target Naveen with "Kohli! Kohli!" from that point forward and the Delhi crowd continued that movement in the World Cup.

Talking about the match, Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first. Team India made one change as R Ashwin was replaced by Shardul Thakur.
