Indian top-order batter Virat Kohli was seen asking the crowd to stop mocking Afghanistan fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 match in Delhi. After conceding 272 in the first innings, the Indian team got off to a brilliant start with Rohit Sharma's magnificent effort. But as Sharma's partner, Ishan Kishan got out, Virat Kohli walked out a massive ovation.

The crowd further erupted when Kohli faced off against Naveen-ul-Haq. This pair had a massive verbal spat in the IPL 2023 and since their rivalry has been making the headlines. But ending all animosity, Virat and  Naveen shared a warm hug. Despite the gesture as fans continued trolling the Afghan bowler, Kohli stepped up and asked the crowd to quiet down their reactions.

After the match, Rohit Sharma took home the Player of the Match award for his  131 in 84 balls with 16 fours and five sixes. Talking about his performance, Sharma said, " It was a good pitch to bat on, just backed myself to play my natural game. I knew once I got my eye in, the wicket was going to get easier for me. Something that I have been working on from a long time. It's a special feeling to get a World Cup hundred. Really happy with that."
