After a brilliant performance at the ongoing Cricket World Cup, the Men in Blue will take on Australia in a five-match T20I series in India. While the two sides played a three-match ODI series in the build-up to the 50-over World Cup in India, the five-match T20I series will kick start from 26 November 2023 with the first match scheduled to be held in Thiruvananthapuram.

However, according to recent reports, the fifth match of the series, which was scheduled to be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, has now been shifted to Hyderabad. Sources have confirmed that the decision comes after the police department cited pressure to provide security to the visiting teams with the elections also in line.
“The police department didn’t give us the requisite permission to host the match as on that day the counting will happen. It’s really unfortunate, but we can’t do much,” a senior Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) official was quoted by SportStar. “We had multiple meetings with the BCCI and requested them for a change in schedule. We could have hosted on December 4, but the board aid that the ticket to Australia are already booked and they cannot reschedule the game,” he further quoted.
It is to be noted that the Telangana assembly elections will take place on November 30 and the counting is scheduled for December 3, the scheduled day for the fifth T20I.
