India's tour of Bangladesh hasn't gone as per plan. In fact, while India were looking to get back to winning ways in the ODI format after losing the rain-affected series against New Zealand, the Men in Blue have already lost the series by ending on the losing side in each of the first two matches.
What has made matters worse for Team India is the injury concerns in their camp. Captain Rohit Sharma did come out to bat with an injured thumb in the second ODI, coach Rahul Dravid has confirmed that Rohit will miss the final ODI. In addition, pacers Kuldeep Sen and Deepak Chahar are also set to miss the final ODI.
Will India, in this case, manage to take a consolation win in the final ODI or will Bangladesh complete a historic clean sweep over India? Let's have a look at the match predictions and the betting odds for this match.
1. Toss Prediction
Bangladesh have had a phenomenal record with the tosses in the recent past. They won each of their tosses in their last ODI series and have now won both their tosses in the ongoing series against India. India, meanwhile, haven't won as many tosses as they would have liked. So predicting Bangladesh to win the toss in the final ODI.
2. Win Possibility
This seems to be a tricky one to predict. Indian batters have not played as per their reputation and there are definitely a few bowling issues to deal with. On the other hand, Bangladesh have made better utilisation of the resources they have had with Mehidy Hasan Miraz having a series to cherish for a lifetime.
But given that India's batting order has had 2 bad games in a row, will the likes of Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul not fire as a unit for the third time in the series? Giving India an outside chance purely based on the reputation of these names and India's otherwise great record against the opposition in this format.
3. Team of the Day
The Team of the Day is India. Despite having not played their best cricket and having a few injury concerns in their ranks, one would expect them to pull one game in their favour and end the series on a winning note, also avoiding the embarrassment of a clean sweep.
4. Average first innings total and Predicted powerplay score
Unlike the first 2 ODIs which were played in Dhaka, the third ODI is scheduled at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram. The average first innings score in ODIs here is 215. So, this could be another tricky surface to bat on. The predicted powerplay score is 40-60.
