After a dominating win in the 1st T20I at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, India will take on South Africa in the second T20I in Guwahati with an aim to clinch the three-match series with a match to go. While the hosts completely dominated the match after winning the toss and taking early wickets, the Proteas too got rid of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli cheaply but just didn't have enough runs to play with.
Before the second match of the series set to be played at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, here is an attempt at predicting the toss result, win possibility, the team of the day and the predicted powerplay score and the average first innings score at this venue.
Toss Prediction
India have now won a hat-trick of tosses in their last 3 T20Is. So going by that trend, predicting India to win the toss in this match. Although the law of averages might come to play.
Win Possibility
As was evident in the manner in which the first T20I was played, India are the better team of the two on paper. Having said that the Proteas team have the players who can win it for their team on their day. But for the second T20I, predicting India to win the match.
Team of the Day
The Team of the Day is India. They are the number 1 T20I team in the world and despite an injured Jasprit Bumrah, their bowlers did pretty well in the series opener which will give them enormous confidence for the rest of the series.
Predicted powerplay score and average first innings total
The average first innings score in T20s at this venue is 127. If this is anything to go by, this would be a low-scoring match. The predicted powerplay score is expected to be between 30-45.
