Sumit Nagal beat Dalibor Svrcina of the Czech Republic in straight sets in the final to clinch the Tampere Open title. Nagal beat Svrcina 6-4, 7-5 to get his fourth ATP Challenger trophy and has dedicated his title to his fitness trainer Milos Galecic.

The 25-year-old took to his social media to express his gratitude to his fitness trainer Milos Galecic who trains him. Nagal has been injury prone in the last couple of years as he went through major hip surgery in November 2021. Since then he has been slowly getting back to fitness with his trainer and this title win certainly states that he is back to his best.

Nagal posted a photo of him and Galecic together with the trophy and wrote, “This trophy is as much his as it is mine. My fitness trainer Milos Galecic has been an integral part of my development as a player and as a human being. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to have a lot of support from many loving coaches, family members, and friends”.

He continued, “I hope to continue to work hard and make them proud & maybe win a few more along the way. Thank you, Finland for a lovely week, but it’s Monday and I gotta get back to the office”.

Galecic has worked closely with many other top Indian tennis players like Somdev Devvarman and is now a part of his Nensel Tennis Academy, which works closely with Nagal, Karman Kaur Thandi, and Adil Kalyanpur. As for Nagal, he will next be in action at Internazionali Di Tennis Città di Verona in which he will face Federico Gaio in the first round on July 25, Tuesday.
