The four-time champions, Chennai Super Kings will lock horns against the inaugural champions, Rajasthan Royals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday, April 12. The hosts have managed to repair their faults after they lost the IPL opener as they have managed to win their last two fixtures comfortably while RR have won two of their three IPL 2023 matches with big margins.

The Super Kings dismantled arch rivals Mumbai Indians in their last fixture as India’s classy batter Ajinkya Rahane smashed the fastest fifty in this edition of the IPL and took down MI’s bowling attack in the powerplay. Ravindra Jadeja was clinical in the second innings as he crushed the MI batting lineup with a fabulous bowling spell and finished with figures of 3/20. CSK will have the services of Moeen Ali after he missed the last match. CSK will be missing the services of Ben Stokes and Deepak Chahar due to injuries but Lankan bowlers Matheesha Pathirana and Maheesh Theekshana are expected to be available for selection.
The Rajasthan Royals are going strong in the IPL 2023 as the last season’s orange cap holder, Jos Buttler has continued his red hot form this season. He has scored two fifties this season, both of which turned out to be match winning knocks while Indian leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has also continued his form from last year as he is the leading wicket taker of the tournament. He has grabbed eight wickets in the three matches so far this season.
