Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), under Shreyas Iyer, had a mixed season in IPL 2022 as they could not qualify for the playoffs. However, there were a few really good performers and the management will look to keep those players with the squad. Clarity on the same will be given when the Kolkata-based franchise announces its retention list.

With no Brendon McCullum at the helm of affairs, it will be interesting to see what sort of choices KKR management makes in the retention and at the IPL 2023 Auction as well. Meanwhile, reports have emerged that KKR have got back Lockie Ferguson from Gujarat Titans and have also roped in Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Reports suggest that Shardul Thakur has also been roped in by KKR.

However, KKR will miss the services of Pat Cummins and Sam Billings as the two overseas players have opted out of the tournament.

KKR  Retained Players : Shreyas Iyer, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Nitish Rana, Anukul Roy, Venkatesh Iyer, Shardul Thakur, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Umesh Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy and Harshit Rana.
