Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul and Chennai Super Kings skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad have been fined after their teams maintained a slow over-rate during Match 34 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
On Friday, April 19, LSG registered a comfortable eight-wicket win over the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 34th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 in Lucknow despite MS Dhoni's late cameo. With this win, the KL Rahul-led side, LSG consolidated their position in the first half of the IPL points table.
As it was LSG’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Rahul was fined INR 12 lakh.
On the other hand, Ruturaj Gaikwad, captain of the Chennai Super Kings has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during Match 34 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Gaikwad was fined INR 12 lakh.
