The Indian Premier League 2024 is set to start on March 22 in Chennai with the IPL 2023 champions Chennai Super Kings taking on Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore, as per SportsTiger's sources. With India's premier T20 tournament still three months, the IPL has been a hot topic of discussion with the teams announcing their list of retained and released players for the coming season.

The IPL 2023 was an extravagant affair with the tournament returning to the home and away format after three years of COVID-19 protocols. IPL 2022 champions, Gujarat Titans, finished first at the end of the regular season with 10 wins and four losses. In contrast, Sunrisers Hyderabad was the worst-performing team as they finished tenth after winning four games.
Further talking about IPL 2024, the trade window ahead of the auction on December 19 created a lot of buzz with some blockbuster trades. One such transfer saw Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya return to his first IPL franchise, Mumbai Indians, in an all-cash deal.

To accommodate this trade, the five-time champions had to their most expensive player, Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, in a similar all-cash deal to the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Green could make a debut for the Bangalore-based franchise against Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024's opening game on March 22 in Chennai.
