The highly anticipated IPL 2025 mega auction, which will decide the fate of 577 shortlisted players, is currently underway at the Abady Al Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. With just 204 slots up for grabs, including 70 overseas ones, only a select few out of 366 Indian and 208 overseas players will be picked by the Indian Premier League (IPL) teams for the 2025 season. Jos Buttler, England's captain for limited overs, is the most sought-after player in the mega auction and has been signed by Gujarat Titans (GT) for INR 15.75 Crore.
Jos Buttler's IPL Career
The wicketkeeper-batsman has created a good impression in the IPL since his joining in 2016. He had the best season in 2020 when he scored 328 runs, but previously in 2019, he had to leave the season midway due to World Cup 2019 preparation. However, he scored 311 runs for the team, creating a good impact. Buttler started his journey with Mumbai Indians and later joined RR. In the 2022 IPL season, he made 863 runs in 17 matches with an average of 57.53, which is quite an impressive one. He slammed 7 centuries and 19 fifties. Since he has been released by RR, his base price is 2 Crore.
Jos is a good addition to the team since he will bring his captaincy and international cricket experience. His last IPL 2024 was quite a good one. He played 11 matches, scoring 359 runs, with 107* being the highest.
