The inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008 gave Indian fans a new way of entertainment. To make cricket more exciting and fun for fans, The new culture of cheerleaders was introduced. Cheering every four, six, wicket with dance moves hooked the audience inside the stadium and front of the television as well. But do you know during the second season of the T20 tournament, the sister of a legendary cricketer was a cheerleader for Chennai Super Kings?

When Janine cheered after the dismissal of his brother Jacques Kallis

Janine Kallis, the sister of legendary South African cricketer Jacques Kallis, was the cheerleader of Chennai Super Kings during the second edition of IPL. The interesting part is that Jacques was at that time playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore. During the match between CSK and RCB, Janine showed her professionalism as she celebrated the wicket of his brother.

Even Jacques Kallis took it sportingly and praised his sister. “Since she was a kid, Janine was interested in dancing. She’s got an opportunity with Chennai Super Kings and she’s doing the family proud. Well, she danced awesomely when I got out against Chennai. I will make sure I’ll be extra careful when I play against Chennai again,” he had said in an interview.
