Despite coming on the back of ten consecutive wins at the ODI World Cup 2023, the Rohit Sharma-led side did not have the last laugh as they lost the final against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. But days after Team India’s lost, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan made a big revelation.

The 39-year-old, who is currently playing in the Legends League Cricket 2023 for the Bhilwara Kings, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to reveal that his son was in attendance for the ODI World Cup 2023 Final. Sharing a picture from the national anthem just ahead of the start of the title clash, Irfan Pathan revealed that his son and his nephews accompanied Team India.

“Witnessing my son Imran, and my nephews Ayaan and Raiyaan, standing proudly for the National Anthem on the field is a memory that will last a lifetime. Grateful to @ICC @BCCI for this unforgettable moment,” he captioned the picture.

Talking about the CWC 2023 Final, Pat Cummins-led side won the toss and invited India to bat first. The Men in Blue posted 240 on the board, a crucial knock from Rohit Sharma (47) and half-centuries from Virat Kohli (54) and KL Rahul (66). But the on the back of a brilliant century from Travis Head (137 off 120 balls) helped the visitors chase down the total in 43 overs to lift their record sixth title.
