After the French National team’s resounding 2-0 win over Ireland, some Irish fans decided to troll Les Bleus with a Lionel Messi jersey at the Parc des Princes. The Kylian Mbappe-led side registered a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Marcus Thuram and Aurelien Tchoumeni, bolstering France’s top spot in Group B in the EURO 2024 Qualifying.

From the opening whistle, Les Bleus dominated the fixture with the Paris Saint Germain duo - Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele running a riot on the flanks. Real Madrid star Tchoumeni opened the scoring with a long-range goal from an assist by Mbappe in the 19th minute. Moments later, the French were dealt a big blow after striker Olivier Giroud went down with an ankle injury in the 26th minute before being replaced by Thuram.

The new Inter Milan star took little time to make an impact as he doubled the lead in the 48th minute and sealed the win for the French. But as Ireland neared another defeat, some Irish fans trolled the French by displaying a Lionel Messi jersey and bringing back memories of the FIFA World Cup 2022 final defeat against Argentina.
