England forward Harry Kane is seemingly doubtful for the upcoming UEFA Euro 2024 after picking up a back injury ahead of Bayern Munich's final Bundesliga game. Concluding a disappointing league season, the Bavarians took on Hoffenheim at Rhein-Neckar-Arena but were left without Kane. The Englishman has scored 44 goals across all competitions in his first season at Munich, including four hat tricks in the Bundesliga.
Ahead of the Hoffenheim clash, Thomas Tuchel broke the news and confirmed Kane is under treatment with his doctor and hence couldn't be picked for the game. The German manager also pointed out how Kane was struggling against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
There was no chance for him to even train: Thomas Tuchel
Tuchel said, “Harry is in medical treatment with his personal doctor. He can’t travel with us. It was already questionable in Madrid, as you might have noticed. “We tried it with injections and therapy, but his back was cramping. It got even worse and he could feel it in everyday movements. There was no chance for him to even train.”
Talking about the Euros, England is placed in Group C with Slovenia, Denmark and Serbia. Coach Gareth Southgate will name his preliminary squad for the tournament on Tuesday, May 21. In the previous edition of the tournament, the Three Lions reached the final of the Euros but lost to Italy in the penalty shootout.
