In the third match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the Indian bowlers Mohammed Shami and Harshit Rana gave a wonderful start to the team, dismissing the likes of Soumya Sarkar and Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto without letting them get off the mark. After the first couple of wickets of Bangladesh innings fell within the first 10 balls, the Indian fans were very ecstatic on the social media platform X.
After winning the toss, Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto decided to bat first on a hot afternoon at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, but his decision backfired instantly. In the first over itself, Mohammed Shami got the wicket of Soumya Sarkar, who could only inside edge the attempt at a cover drive through to the wicket-keeper KL Rahul for no score.
In the next over, Harshit Rana, who was playing his first match in an ICC tournament for India, started his bowling spell in style by getting the prized scalp of Najmul Hossain Shanto for zero, who found Virat Kohli at short cover while trying to drive the ball on the up. Within the first 10 balls of the Bangladesh innings, their scorecard read 2/2, and shortly after, Mohammed Shami also picked up the wicket of all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz in his first spell.
