The wait to see Jasprit Bumrah in action could extend a little longer as reports have claimed that India's star pacer is likely to miss the upcoming IPL 2023. According to a report on Cricbuzz, Bumrah's injury appears to be more serious than it initially appeared and hence the pacer could miss the entire IPL 2023. Notably, the IPL 2023 is set to kickstart on March 31 in Ahmedabad.
Sources close to BCCI have hinted that Bumrah's return to action could take another 3-4 months. There is even a possibility that Bumrah will miss out World Test Championship (WTC) final in the UK in June, if India qualifies.
The reports have further claimed that the BCCI does not want to rush anything as they want the Indian pacer to be ready for the World Cup in October-November.
Notably, Bumrah last played for India in September last year. Although the Indian board included him in the squad for Sri Lanka ODIs, he was later ruled out due to injury. Reports have also added that the National Cricket Academy (NCA) authorities in Bengaluru are not going to rush Bumrah's recovery.
Initially it was thought that Bumrah will return to take part in the IPL as he would be bowling only four overs in a game but now the NCA has decided to make Bumrah fir for the ODI World Cup which is set to take place in India this year.
