After adding Jasprit Bumrah to the squad for the ODI series against Bangladesh, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) now confirmed that the pacer is not ready yet and will not be taking part in the series. The board in a press release confirmed that Bumrah will not play any of the three ODIs as the pacer needs some more time to build bowling resilience.
"Bumrah, who was set to join the team in Guwahati ahead of the ODI series, will need some more time to build bowling resilience. This decision has been taken as a precautionary measure", the statement read.
Meanwhile, it's reported that Bumrah might feature in the series against New Zealand against whom India will play three ODIs and as many T20I in that order from January 18.
