Ruben Amorim joins Manchester United as head coach post departure from Sporting CP

With Joao Pereira replacing Ruben Amorim as head coach in Sporting CP, the former Portuguese midfielder has been appointed as a new head coach for Manchester United. He replaced Ruud van Nistelrooy for the same role. Amorim had a great time with Sporting CP guiding the club to its first league title in 19 years in 2021 before regaining the trophy last season. His tenure came to an end following Sporting’s 4-2 win against Braga on Monday, November 11.

Taking about Ruud van Nisterlooy, he was serving as an interim head coach for Manchester United after Erin ten Hag was sacked from the role earlier this year. United are now set to face Ipswich Town in their upcoming fixture in the Premier League at Portman Road Stadium on November 24.
