England are pitted against India for their semifinal clash. The two teams will play each other in the second semifinal of the T20 World Cup 2022 on 10 November. It is expected to be a thrilling contest with both teams going at full throttle. Both India and England won their last league stage game. While England defeated Sri Lanka to secure a semifinal berth, India defeated Zimbabwe to finish at the top of the point table in Group 2.

Now, although the wins in the league stage are a thing of the past and the team that does well on the day will move ahead in the tournament, how the two teams fared in Super 12s will affect the confidence going into the semifinal. England rather had a scratchy outing in the Super 12s as they won three out of five games.

The Jos Buttler-led team lost to Ireland in a rain-marred game and found themselves in all sorts of trouble. Meanwhile, India only lost to South Africa and that too in the last over despite posting a below-par score. The Men in Blue have done exceedingly well in all three departments so far.

While the likes of Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli have been consistently among the runs, the pace quartet of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Shami, and Hardik Pandya has taken wickets. Overall, India looks like a complete team with only a couple of issues here and there. And England are worried about the same thing.

When England captain Jos Buttler was asked to name one factor about India that worries the Three Lions, he said that India are a really good team. “They are a good team,” said Buttler.

Well, it is to be seen if England are really worried about India or if is it just a psychological tactic from the England captain. Meanwhile, both teams’ preparations for the all-important clash are in full swing. Both India and England players were seen sweating it out at the nets of Adelaide Oval a day prior to this clash.
