The French defender Jules Kounde fell victim to a robbery at his home in Sitges, Barcelona at half past ten in the evening while he was away playing for the Catalan giants. Notably, the La Liga match at the Estadi Olímpic Lluis Companys saw Barcelona suffer a shock home defeat against Villarreal by 5-3.

As per the report from RAC1, the sources of Mossos d'Esquadra, the autonomous police force in Catalunya, explained to them that Jules Kounde’s home had a “robbery with force.” The police are waiting to receive the report to get details about what was stolen by the thieves from the Barcelona player’s home.
Notably, this isn’t the first time that Jules Kounde was a victim of a robbery at his home. In April of 2023, when the 25-year-old was playing for Barcelona against Real Betis at Camp Nou, the robbery happened at his home, which he found out about after returning from the match. Jules Kounde reported the robbery to the police immediately, and then, the next day at training, he communicated the incident to his Barcelona teammates.
Moreover, it was a tough night for Jules Kounde and Barcelona all around, losing the La Liga match to Villarreal at home, which led to their manager Xavi announcing his intention to leave the top job at the end of the 2023-24 season. In the post-match press conference, Xavi was quoted as saying, “It's time for a change of direction, I don't want to be a problem.”
