Indian umpire Anil Chaudhary took a brutal jibe at Mohammad Rizwan, the Pakistan wicket-keeper batter, for his animated and often excessive appealing behind the stumps. The 59-year-old spoke about how Mohammad Rizwan keeps shouting on every ball before stating that he jumps like a pigeon while fulfilling his responsibility for Pakistan with the gloves in hand.
Notably, the last international match as an umpire for Anil Chaudhary was on September 27, 2023, when India took on Australia in a limited overs international in preparation for the ODI World Cup. Later on, the International Cricket Council (ICC) replaced him with Rohan Pandit in the International Panel of ICC Umpires for the 2023-24 cricketing season.
During his recent podcast appearance on YouTube with a channel called 2 Sloggers, when Anil Chaudhary was asked about the ways of Mohammad Rizwan, he said, “Har ball pe chillata hai. Wo hai na jo lipstick jaise lagata hai. Wo waise hi kabootar ki tarah koodta rehta hai (He keeps shouting on every ball. Isn't he the one who puts on something like lipstick? He keeps jumping like a pigeon)”.
Moreover, Mohammad Rizwan is currently playing in a Test match for Pakistan against Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi International Stadium. He scored 171 in the first innings for Pakistan, to help them declare their innings at 448/6.
But, in response, Bangladesh posted a massive score of 565 on the board, to take a 1 17-run first innings lead before reducing Pakistan to 23/1 at the close of play on day 4.
