Indian wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul is all set to mark his return to competitive cricket after recovering from a quadriceps injury. KL Rahul, who featured in the opening Test of the three-match series, was ruled out of the second Test after he complained of quadriceps pain.

However, the 31-year-old failed to regain complete fitness and was eventually ruled out of the Test series. Moreover, the cricketer travelled to London for a treatment, but recent reports have claimed that he is expected to receive the Return to Play certificate soon.

“He had consulted top medical experts in London. He returned to India on Sunday and has checked into the BCCI’s National Cricket Academy in Bangalore for rehab. He should get the Return to Play certificate from the NCA soon,” a source told Times of India.

“He is keen to prove his worth in the IPL as he’s in line for selection in India’s T20 World Cup team as a ‘keeper-batter’,” he further added.

With the Bengaluru-born cricketer nearing his return, he is expected to feature Lucknow Super Giants’ opening match against Rajasthan Royal on March 24. Speaking of Lucknow’s campaign at the IPL 2024, after playing an away game, they will head home to the Ekana Cricket Stadium to play against Punjab Kings on March 30 and will then take on RCB (April 2) and GT (April 7).
